I am primarily influenced by classic rock artists especially those who shaped my early years as a musician in the 2000s, such as David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Cheap Trick, King's X, Yes, The Who, Foghat, T. Rex, Eagles, Queen, Scorpions, The Beatles, and The Byrds. My sound is further shaped by post-punk and new wave acts like The Cars, The Psychedelic Furs, Japan/David Sylvian, The Romantics, Duran Duran, Romeo Void, Gene Loves Jezebel, Clan of Xymox, Lebanon Hanover, She Past Away, The Birthday Party, The Smiths, Joy Division, New Order, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cure, Killing Joke, and Echo & the Bunnymen. Additionally, I draw heavy inspiration from alternative, grunge, and punk artists, including The Lemonheads, R.E.M., Manic Street Preachers, Super Furry Animals, Doughboys, The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Suede, U2, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Pavement, Hüsker Dü/Bob Mould, Noir Désir, The Chills, Straitjacket Fits, Oasis, Pop Will Eat Itself, Jesus Jones, and Blur. Finally, my roots trace back to the thrash, groove metal and nu metal acts of my very early career, such as Pantera, Anthrax, Sepultura, Overkill, Korn, Deftones and Metallica.
My musical style includes indie rock, folk, post-punk, jangle pop, psychedelic rock, and grunge, all heavily inspired by British and American music, as I never incorporate J-pop styles. It also carries the influences I first absorbed from classic rock, glam rock, and punk rock during my early career in the 2000s. While I experimented with shoegaze throughout the 2010s (particularly between 2015 and 2023), I have since returned to my indie, post-punk, and classic rock roots. As of 2026, I have completely lost interest in shoegaze and stopped creating it entirely.
My guitar collection includes Kazuki Strat, Squier Stratocaster, Baracuda Les Paul (now is broken), Epiphone ES-335 semi-hollow, Epiphone Les Paul, and 12-string guitar (Fender FSR Traditional Stratocaster XII and Rickenbacker 330/12). I also use a MIDI guitar and a variety of basses: P-bass, J-bass, fretless bass (Squier Classic Vibe '60s Jazz), double bass, 8-string bass, and 12-string bass (Chinese-made 12-string and Dean Rhapsody 12-string bass). I also have a mandolin, and recently (in 2026), I have acquired an electric mandocello.
I began incorporating a 12-string bass into my music in late 2024, inspired by my love for bands like Pearl Jam and Cheap Trick. Experimenting with the instrument has provided a layered, orchestral low-end and a tone far more harmonically rich than a standard bass. While this sound is common in rock and metal, it is rarely heard in indie contexts; consequently, I've found myself drawn to artists in those heavier genres who prioritize the 12-string sound. To further diversify my palette, I also utilize a fretless bass on several tracks, drawing heavy inspiration from the work of Mick Karn, Jaco Pastorius and Pino Palladino.
